Beachfront cottages on Saint Martin’s Island, with breakfast on the sand and the Bay of Bengal at the door.

Tropicana is seven cottages — Lucky 7, Jhinuk, Probal, Shaibal, Coral, Ketuki and Keya — set along the beach on Saint Martin’s Island, with the Bay of Bengal a short walk from every door.
Breakfast is included with every stay, a welcome drink is waiting when you arrive, and a beach chair by your cottage is yours for as long as you’re here. Tea and coffee making facilities, bottled mineral water and fresh toiletries are stocked in every room.
Room service and electricity run around the clock, so a request at any hour gets answered. It is a small place, and most of a stay here is simply not having to ask twice for anything.
Sea-facing or over the courtyard, all of them within ninety metres of the water. Rates below are the direct rate — the same room costs more everywhere else.

This is a working fishing shoreline, and it stays quiet because of it. No jet skis off our stretch, no hawkers past the gate, nothing playing after ten. Loungers go out at seven and come in at dusk.
Twenty-eight rooms doesn’t stretch to a spa or a nightclub, and we have never wanted either. What we do have, we look after.

Through the garden gate and down eleven steps. Loungers and umbrellas are set out from seven; towels are in your room, not at a desk. The tide runs a long way out in the afternoon and the sand it leaves is the best walk on this coast.

One menu, rewritten most mornings around the catch. Bengali plates, a short grill list, and dinner served until half past ten. Tell us at breakfast if you want something particular and there is a fair chance it can be found by evening.

Boat trips down the coast most mornings in season, and snorkelling gear for anyone who wants it. The front desk books both a day ahead and will tell you honestly when the water is not worth the trip.
On the terrace or in your room, until eleven. Paratha and eggs, seasonal fruit, and coffee made properly rather than quickly.
Shaded seating under old palms, a shelf of left-behind paperbacks in the lobby, and enough room not to run into anyone.
Staffed 8:00 to 22:00 and on the phone the rest of the night. Laundry, bus tickets, and honest advice on where to eat in town.
Cox’s Bazar airport is a fifteen-minute drive. Send us your flight number and a car will be waiting for it.
The pool by two, the terrace by seven, and the long quiet bit in between that nobody puts on a brochure.
“The kind of place where you put your phone down by the second day. Wonderful staff, a quiet beach, and the best seafood I’ve had outside Dhaka.”
Booking here is the lowest rate we offer — no agency mark-up, no booking fee, and free cancellation up to seventy-two hours before you arrive.
Or call the front desk
Daily 8:00 – 22:00 (GMT+6). Somebody who has actually seen the rooms picks up — ask which side of the house is quiet in December, or whether the two on the end can be held together.
